Today many individuals are very wary of practicing martial arts. They are scared that they might turn into some demonic, violent person, who is aggressive and out of control. Or they are scared that they will get beaten up if they join in a martial art class. Don’t get me wrong I know that there are some martial art classes out there that certain teachers allow their students to beat the hell out of each other. So I can understand why many are so worried about joining a martial art class.
But then there are the more holistic martial arts like the Chinese internal martial arts of taijiquan, baguazhang and Feng Shou-Gongfu. Who teach that by practicing the soft style of Gongfu you are learning how to defeat yourself and turn yourself into a more confident, stronger individual who is ready to take on the challenges that life difficulties has to offer. Plus, the Chinese soft style Gongfu can also help to keep you fit and healthy well into your old age, as you can still practice it no matter how old you are. Not like many other types of martial arts like Thai Boxing, Karate, Taekwondo or even mixed martial arts which are to punishing on the body that your body can no longer take it , due to the damage they inflict on your body.
Feng Shou-Gongfu teaches you how to lose your ego and not to be so competitive. But in no way does this mean that Feng Shou-Gongfu fighting methods are not effective. In fact it’s quite the opposite the fighting methods and strategies of Feng Shou-Gongfu are very practical, fast and powerful and are suitable for everyone to learn. Feng Shou-Gongfu also teaches that you do not have to be Bruce Lee by fighting to the death to defend yourself. It teaches that a simple push too off balance your attacker is properly more practical to escape a violent situation, than staying and fighting to the end were you might get seriously hurt.
Another benefit of learning the Chinese soft martial arts is that you don’t have to be super fit or strong to practice them. As they will develop your fitness, strength, flexibility, concentration, co-ordination, balance and of cause health & well-being through its soft, active movements that incorporates strikes, kicks, wrestling and throwing techniques that can be performed by the young and the old. As there is one thing in life that is very certain and that is no matter how old you are. You could be attacked at anytime, even in your old age.
Over the many years that I have been practicing and learning the Chinese soft internal martial arts. I have heard and spoken to many individuals who have practiced other more harder martial arts for many years and have won many competitions, but then because of injuries or they are to old to carry on with their training they decide to stop. Then in their old age they get attacked and seriously hurt because their martial art training did not keep them healthy and fit enough to defend themselves and escape the situation.
As I have already mentioned it does not matter how old you are, either female or male young or old you can still be attacked or mugged, sometimes even in your own home. The Chinese soft internal martial art like Feng Shou-Gongfu is practiced to strengthen your mind & body, health, fitness and your life irrespective of how old you are.
